Check out this guest post for more information about the exciting new initiative.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Brighton has a lot to be proud of \u2013 as one of the most colourful and vibrant cities in Europe, it\u2019s bursting with creativity.<\/p>\n<p>The mix of Brighton\u2019s famous \u2018bohemian\u2019 vibe and a thriving tech industry has created a place where disruptive thinkers feel free to test their innovations.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s with this sense of freedom and pride that Brighton\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/pragmatic.agency\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">Pragmatic<\/a> have launched their latest initiative, aimed at celebrating those individuals, teams and projects that make the WordPress community so special.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>The IWP Awards<\/h2>\n<p>The IWP Awards is a non-profit organisation for the WordPress community, providing a way to recognise and celebrate the highest achievements in our industry. Enabling users to provide entries for a wide range of categories, which, incidentally are open to the public vote.<\/p>\n<p>The awards will honor the fruit of all our hard labour, as well as the individuals and teams behind the projects. The IWP site states \u201cOur goal is to create a space where innovation flourishes and where WordPress professionals can share ideas that help shape the future of the internet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With a $30,000 prize fund, the IWP Innovation prize should raise an eyebrow or two. The prize money will be awarded to one outstanding submission that demonstrates excellence beyond any doubt and in turn contributes towards the benefit of mankind through digital innovation.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"525\" height=\"296\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2ABfR9szDE4?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-GB&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>To help determine to criteria for the prize, IWP will be teaming up with a global charity (yet to be confirmed) to ensure efforts are directed where they will be most effective.<\/p>\n<p>In case you are wondering, yes it\u2019s an official gig!
