So let&#8217;s start with the people who made it all happen:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>18 speakers<\/li>\n<li>8 organisers<\/li>\n<li>14 volunteers<\/li>\n<li>24 sponsors<\/li>\n<li>195 WCBTN attendees<\/li>\n<li>35 Contribution Day attendees<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We mixed things up with a few different session formats this year. We&#8217;ll be interested in hearing your feedback about what you think worked, what didn&#8217;t, and how we can make these different formats work better next time&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>15 <a href=\"http:\/\/2017.brighton.wordcamp.org\/schedule\/\">Talks<\/a><\/li>\n<li>3 <a href=\"http:\/\/2017.brighton.wordcamp.org\/schedule\/workshops\/\">Workshops<\/a><\/li>\n<li>8 <a href=\"http:\/\/2017.brighton.wordcamp.org\/tribe-meetups\/\">Tribe Meetups<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1 * unofficial * Friday evening gathering<\/li>\n<li>1 After Party on Saturday<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We wanted to minimise our impact on the environment, so put a few things in place to reduce the amount of waste. This is a subsidiary of a charitable organisation called the <a href=\"http:\/\/wordpressfoundation.org\/\">WordPress Foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>When we need to make any purchases, such as hiring a venue or buying stationery, we submit a vendor invoice via \/wp-admin on this very WordCamp website. The invoice is then paid by WordPress Community Support.<\/p>\n<p>The ideal scenario is that we raise enough money from ticket sales and sponsorships to cover the entire cost of the WordCamp.<\/p>\n<p>If there&#8217;s any budget surplus left over, \u00a0it&#8217;s<span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">\u00a0retained by the <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">foundation and <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">goes towards helping fund WordCamps and other WordPress events. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\"><strong>So in summary, that \u00a323.43 is in safe hands<\/strong> \ud83c\udf1e<\/span><\/p>\n<p>You can read more about how this all works <a href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/community\/handbook\/wordcamp-organizer\/first-steps\/budget-and-finances\/running-the-money-through-wpcs\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Share your experience of WCBTN<\/h2>\n<p>Laura, our marketing lead, is \u00a0gathering blog posts and photos from the event to share with you soon, so keep a lookout for that and do send yours over to us too.
