Post-event update
Thank you to our table leads and contributors who did an amazing amount of work on the day, explored new ways for the teams to work together, and helped many newcomers join the global family of contributors. Thanks to everyone who attended and here are a few special mentions.
- Mario Wolf who introduced the work of the community team and helped collate the feedback on the Contributor Orientation Tool which is being developed with WCEU
- Alain Schlesser for supporting on core and WP-CLI, and helping many new contributors take their first steps in contributing to WordPress
- Tammie Lister leading on other parts of core and design, sharing tips on blocks and bringing on some new contributors
- Abha Thakor for co-ordinating and leading the day’s activities as a whole, leading the marketing table and joint work with WordPress.tv and community teams. Thanks to all the marketing team who worked on articles for WordPress news and the marketing blog.
- Anitaa Murthy for show some of the work of the Mobile team and how you can give feedback
- Leo Mindel will help those new to WordPress.tv and editing and input into ideas for helping Camps with video filming
- Jonathan Morgan-Jones and Michael Burridge helped new attendees with setting up development areas and joining the Make WordPress slack. Jonathan also joined the training team as a new contributor
- various contributors who were available to help introduce the other teams including support, training, polyglots and more. Everyone who attended gave of their time and skills, and we would like to thank for this on behalf of the project. We hope to meet them again soon on Make WordPress

Come and join us for a day of contributing to the WordPress project. This will take place at The Skiff, please note this is a different venue to the conference.

Thanks to Abha Thakor, who is leading the contributor event on the day and Jonathan Morgan-Jones leading contributing on the organising team. They are both available to help with any questions and to help you get started with contributing.
There will also be various event table leads available to provide advice and assistance.
Whatever area you are interested in, there will be help to get you started or find a new project. Come and join in. It’s fun and a great environment to learn new or refresh old skills.

9:30am Building will open
10:00am Welcome and find teams you would like to work with. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day.
10:30am Introductions to the different Make WordPress teams, and then break out to your chosen team or join the new contributor session
1:00pm Lunch
2:00pm Picture opportunity
2:15pm Continue with your teams or join a new one for the afternoon session
3:30pm Summary of the day and the work of the teams. Info on how you can continue contributing.
4:00pm Event finishes.
The Skiff: Contributor Day location
Getting to The Skiff on the 18 August 2019
If you’re travelling into Brighton by train, The Skiff is only 0.2 miles (a five minute walk) from Brighton Railway Station. Please note – the main entrance is located on Blackman Street. A taxi from Brighton Station takes 6 -8 minutes, depending on traffic.
Parking is limited and can be expensive in Brighton, there are several car parks nearby.
